Petrolimex III Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company, formerly known as III Construction and Installation Company, was established on February 22, 1977, under the Ministry of Materials. It underwent several organizational transformations over the years. The company was changed into a Construction and Installation Enterprise under Petrol Company Region II on June 20, 1980. Later, on August 8, 1984, it became Construction and Installation Company III under the Ministry of Materials. On August 16, 1996, it was transferred to Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation, as per the Ministry of Trade's decision. Finally, on June 8, 1999, it was renamed III Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company III - Petrolimex.
