In the first 11 months of 2023, finished steel product production reached 25.014 million tons, down 7.8% over the same period in 2022. Finished steel product sales reached 23.699 million tons, down 5.6% over the same period in 2022. Of which, exports reached 7.436 million tons, up 29% over the same period in 2022.Regarding the import situation, in Oct 2023, Vietnam imported about 1.279 million tons of steel, down 8.94% compared to Sep 2023 and up 53.96% over the same period in 2022 in import volume. Import value reached more than USD 957 million, down 3.94% over the previous month and up 30.96% over the same period in 2022.In the first 10 months of 2023, imports of finished steel products of all kinds to Vietnam are about 10.61 million tons with a value of more than USD 8.491 billion, an increase of 8.61% in volume but a decrease of 17.56% in value compared to the same period in 2022. The main steel supplier countries to Vietnam include: China (59.99%), Japan (15.3%), South Korea (8.61%), Taiwan (5.72%) and ASEAN (5.58%).About the export situation, in Oct 2023, Vietnam exported about 908 thousand tons of steel, an increase of 5.06% compared to Sep 2023 and an increase of 71.47% over the same period in 2022 in export volume. Export value reached more than USD 656 million, up 7.46% over the previous month and up 51.82% over the same period in 2022.Overall, in the first 10 months of 2023, Vietnam exported about 9.137 million tons of steel, an increase of 30.74% over the same period in 2022. Export value reached USD 6.95 billion, equal to the same period in 2022. Vietnam's main export markets in the first 10 months of 2023 are: ASEAN region (31.46%), EU region (24.12%), USA (9.13%), India (8 .03%) and Taiwan (3.44%).
