The subject - Sawaco specializes in managing and developing water supply systems; exploiting, producing, supplying, and trading clean water for consumption and production needs. The company has many projects to provide water resource development in Dong Nai Province, Ho Chi Minh City, and other neighboring provinces. The subject's water supply system in Ho Chi Minh City is the largest scale in Vietnam. In addition to being self-produced, the subject also buys clean water from other water factories such as Kenh Dong, BOO Thu Duc (Thu Duc II), BOT Binh An, Tan Hiep II...In 2021, the main activity of water supply was quite difficult with a decrease in consumption volume because businesses, production facilities, service businesses, restaurants, and trade centers had to stop their operations for several months, especially during 4th outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. Sawaco set a target of 583 million cubic meters of water for consumption. However, in reality, the subject only reached 560 million cubic meters of water. In 2022, Sawaco set a revenue target of VND 5,297 billion and a profit after tax target of VND 673 billion. Thanks to efforts to control water loss and upgrade water supply project items, Sawaco achieved an optimistic business result in 2022. The water loss reduction rate in 2022 was 18.24% (0.22% less than the plan).Based on public information, in 2023, Sawaco and member companies reached a total capacity of 2.4 million cubic meters per day on average, including 2 million cubic meters of actual consumption and reserve power. This helped to meet output supplied to the network during times of sudden increase in consumption during holidays, New Year's Eve, and the peak of dry season. Continuing the plan to reduce water loss rate for the period of 2022 - 2025, in 2023, Sawaco implemented a plan to detect tanks, maintain and repair old and rotten pipelines, flush periodically, shorten the time to repair tanks, and troubleshoot problems. As a result, from Jan 2022 to Oct 2023, 432 meters of level 1 and 2 pipelines and 132,248 meters of level 3 pipelines were renovated, upgraded, and replaced. In addition, Sawaco strengthened the water meter management, divided network separation, completed the master meter management area, and proactively reduced water loss. Overall, the water loss rate for the first 6 months of 2023 decreased to 14.44%, many member units achieved a deep reduction in water loss rate compared to plan. Furthermore, Sawaco propagated households in limiting exploitation and use of underground water sources, increasing the use of clean water. Therefore, the water meter rate of 0 - 4 cubic meters for the first 6 months of 2023 decreased to 15.60%, down by 0.40% compared to the end of 2022. The result of installing new small-sized water meters reached 13,392 water meters, equal to 69.86% of the plan for 2023 and 103.49% compared to the same period in 2022.Regarding long-term orientation, Sawaco still aims to maintain the rate of 100% of households being supplied with clean water and review areas that still use water through temporary solutions (master meters, tanks). For areas that have not had water supply pipelines, the subject will plan to develop the network and install new water meters. Water meters with abnormal consumption, no use, or low consumption will have appropriate handling plans.
