Crvena Zvezda, located in Belgrade, is a sports society that is considered the most numerous, popular, and victorious in the region. It has gained a large army of supporters and fans due to its remarkable charisma and achievements. Crvena Zvezda is not only a sports organization but also one of the three symbols of Serbian identity, alongside the Orthodox Church and the Politika daily newspaper. The idea of its foundation was initiated by the Belgrade City USAOS Committee in February 1945. Over the years, Crvena Zvezda has gone through five periods of development. The first period, from its foundation until 1948, focused on forming various sports sections. The second period, from 1948 to 1963, saw the formation of independent clubs within the organization. The third period, from 1963 to 1967, aimed to strengthen the sports union and overcome financial difficulties. The fourth period, from 1967 to 1992, witnessed the affirmation of the Crvena Zvezda family and the pursuit of extraordinary sport results. The fifth period, from 1992 to the present day, has been marked by functioning difficulties due to economic and political instability. Despite the challenges, Crvena Zvezda remains a synonym of success and is respected and appreciated worldwide.
