Serbia's Politika media group, which was established in 1904, operates in the newspapers, publishing and graphic design businesses.
The privately-owned group publishes two dailies and 11 periodicals.
Its flagship Politika daily newspaper is one of the most influential publications in Belgrade's media landscape.
In January 2002, Politika group signed a deal with Germany's Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ) media company to set up a 50-50 joint venture.
Politika brought property into the joint company, while WAZ contributed with some USD 9.0 million in the first year of the joint venture and know-how.
Politika Corporation consists of three companies - the parent company Politika AD, the WAZ-Politika joint enterprise Politika Newspapers & Magazines (PNM) and the television and radio broadcasting company RTV Politika, where Politika AD is the majority owner.
