The merger of Kagiso Trust Investments (“KTI”) and Tiso Group (“Tiso”) was formally concluded on 1 July 2011. A new company, a new investment champion, Kagiso Tiso Holdings (“KTH”) has entered the South African landscape. The company is a private equity firm specializing in investments in buyouts in middle market companies. It seeks to acquire control of enterprises and would not be restricted to any particular sectors of the economy. It also seeks to enter into limited number of strategic minority black economic empowerment investments in mining and mining services.
