York Timber Holdings Limited is engaged in commercial forestry, softwood sawmilling, plywood manufacture and timber trade. The Company operates through three segments: Processing plants, Forestry and Wholesale. Its Processing plants segment include sawmilling and plywood. Its Forestry segment owns plantations in the Mpumalanga Province on which it grows pine and eucalyptus trees that are cultivated and managed on a rotational basis. The Company's Wholesale segment includes a warehouse, which is located in Pretoria and has two distribution centers. Its distribution centers are located in Germiston and Cape Town. Its sawmills, which are located near Sabie, Graskop, White River, Warburton and Lothair, produce and sell structural and industrial sawn timber products. The Company, through its subsidiary, York Timbers Proprietary Limited, owns plantations, processing plants, and Agentimber Proprietary Limited, which runs a wholesale distribution network.
