Despite persistent challenges, such as high interest rates, inflationary pressures affecting materials and labour and ongoing funding constraints, the sector continues to play a pivotal role in national employment and economic growth, accounting for over 6% of formal jobs and contributing BRL 359.5bn to GDP in 2024.
