China Textile Sector Report 2016 3rd Quarter
An EMIS Insights Industry ReportEMIS is an ISI Markets Company Date: July 2016
Pages: 68
Available in: English
There were 19,951 textile enterprises in China at the end of May 2016. The cotton, linen and wool subsectors are consolidated to a great extent, but the chemical fibre subsector is still highly fragmented, although there is an undisputed leader in this sector – Hengli Group. Revenue growth has slowed down significantly after years of double-digit annual increases, mainly due to the drastic drop in exports, rising labour costs and the bad economic situation. However, profits are growing, thanks to the efforts of the government to stimulate the local economy and the sector, the narrowing gap between local and global cotton prices and the ongoing depreciation of the RMB, which has increased exporters’ profits despite falling export volumes.
This report provides a complete and detailed analysis of the textile sector for China. EMIS Insights presents in-depth business intelligence in a standard format across countries and regions, providing a balanced mix between analysis and data.
