Its gross value added (GVA) amounted to CZK 258bn in 2017 and its share of the total GVA was 5.7%. The sector’s share of the services GVA was 9.4% in 2017. The GVA of the transportation and storage sector increased by 5.8% y/y in real terms in 2017, following a growth rate of 2.6% in the previous year. The gross output of the sector accounted for 5.8% of the total gross output of the Czech economy in 2017. A total of 262,500 people were employed in the sector in 2017, accounting for 6.6% of the total employment.
