India Telecommunications Sector H1 FY2026 Half-Annual Update

India's telecommunications sector experienced structural reforms in H1 FY2026, spanning from April 2025 to October 2025. During this period, 5G fixed wireless access surpassed fibre-to-the-home, as network operators found it more economical to deploy 5G networks than to lay fibre. H1 FY2026 also saw notable regulatory developments, as the government unveiled the second version of its National Broadband Mission and introduced the long-awaited National Frequency Allocation Plan, which delineates portions of the electromagnetic spectrum designated for telecommunications providers and Wi-Fi manufacturers.
