Loma de la Lata is located in the province of Neuquen. The plant was built in 1994 and consists of three gas turbines operating on open cycle, with an installed capacity of 369 MW, which represents 1.5% of installed capacity in Argentina. From 1997 to date, the average annual generation of 1,248 GWh was, with up to 2317 GWh in 1999 and a minimum of 272 GWh in 2002. As Guemes Power Station, has a privileged location to be near one of the largest gas reserves in Latin America, also called Loma de la Lata.
