The University of Buenos Aires (UBA) was created the 12 of August of 1821. In 1881 the institution changed its category to National University. The institution is the one of most prestigious in Argentina. It counts with the faculties of: Agronomy, Architecture, Economic Sciences, Exact and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Veterinary, Law, Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Philosophy and Literature, Engineering, Medicine, Psicology and Odontology. The UBA also manages different institutions as: The Hospital of Clinics of the City of Buenos Aires, the Medical Researches Institute of Alfredo Lanari, several specific museums in different disciplines like Ethnograpy and the one from Pharmacy, the Institute of Oncology Angel H. Roffo, the Buenos Aires National School, the Carlos Pelliegrini Superior School and several regional university centers distributed in the Buenos Aires Province.
