Turkish Ziraat Bank Bosnia d.d., established in 1997, is the first bank in Bosnia founded with foreign capital. It is majority-owned by Turkey's T.C.Ziraat Bankası. The Turkish lender, established in 1863, has 8 foreign subsidiary banks in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia Federation, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany and Macedonia. In 1999, Turkish Ziraat Bank Bosnia d.d. claimed to be the pioneer of the credit card business in Bosnia after issuing the first Visa card in the country. The Bosnian lender offers retail and corporate banking services through a network of over 20 branch offices nationwide.
