It was established and incorporated as a public limited company on November 17, 1999. The company obtained registration from the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority on May 4, 2000, and began its business operations in the middle of 2000. The company aims to provide maximum security at a minimum cost and ensure prompt settlement of claims for its clients. The company was founded by Mr. AHM Mustafa Kamal, FCA, MP, along with other distinguished entrepreneurs, with a paid-up capital of Tk. 7.0 crore. Mr. AHM Mustafa Kamal served as the chairman of the company from 2000 to 2010, and since then, Mr. Aftab ul Islam, FCA, a renowned business personality, has been leading the company as the chairman. The company has an authorized capital of Tk. 1000 million and a paid-up capital of Tk. 423 million. It has opened branches in various business centers in Dhaka city and other districts of the country, establishing a network to provide prompt services to a wide range of clients. Asia Pacific General Insurance Company Limited has extensive reinsurance treaty agreements with Shadharan Bima Corporation (SBC) through surplus, CAT XL, and facultative reinsurance treaty.
