Bangladesh National Insurance Company Limited (BNIC) is a public limited company located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was incorporated on 21 May 1996 under the Companies Act, 1994 and is licensed to operate all types of general insurance business, excluding life insurance. The company obtained its certificate of commencement of business on 1 June 1996 and registration from the Controller of Insurance on 18 June 1996. BNIC operates through 28 branches and one local office strategically located throughout the country. The main objective of the company is to provide various types of insurance, guarantee, and indemnity services, including fire, motor, marine, engineering, personal accident, contractor all risk, industrial all risk, and health insurance. BNIC is listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange and is rated 'AA-' for its long-term financial security characteristics by the Emerging Credit Rating Ltd.
