Bulgarian packing materials producer Unipack, which was established in 1967, is based in the northern town of Pavlikeni.
A total of 67% in Unipack was sold for vouchers under Bulgaria's mass privatisation programme in 1997. The main buyer was former privatisation fund Severkoop Gamza Holding. In May 1998, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency sold another 22% of Unipack equity to Cyprus-registered Profitech Enterprises Ltd. for USD 545,000. In December 2006, Plovdiv-based cardboard and packing materials maker Fort OOD acquired 74.9% of Unipack shares on the local stock exchange for over EUR 3.8 million.
Unipack produces a wide range of packing products - cardboard and corrugated cardboard packages, laminated packaging, laminated aluminum foil for the cigarette industry, flexoprinted packages. It also offers packaging printing and design services and professional packaging solutions.
