Bulgarian pumps and pumping equipment maker Vipom is a successor of the state-owned enterprise called Georgi Dimitrov. The company's production facilities are located in Vidin and it also runs offices in Sofia and Moscow. Vipom exports part of its output to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Georgia.
A 60.2% stake of the company's equity was sold against vouchers under the government's mass privatisation programme in 1996-97. The bulk of the shares was purchased by local holding company TK Hold. In September 1998, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency sold a 26.2% of Vipom to a management-employee buyout company, Vipom-Invest, for USD 552,100. As of October 2006, two Cyprus-based companies Pandekts Co Ltd. and N&A Co Ltd. held a combined stake of 46.5% in the listed pump maker.
