Bradesco Cartoes is one of the largest issuers of credit cards in Brazil, that issue cards on Visa, MasterCard and American Express brands. Bradesco announced in 2006 a partnership agreement by which acquired most operations of American Express for a total of US$ 490 million. Bradesco took over the business in Brazil with American Express credit cards, insurance, travel services, foreign exchange transactions and consumer credit. In April 2010 he joined Banco do Brasil to create of a new flagship card with the name "elo".
