Brisanet Participacoes S.A. is a telecommunications company founded by José Roberto Nogueira in 1998 in Pereiro, a city in the semi-arid region of Ceará, Brazil. The company's main purpose is to provide quality and affordable internet access to underserved cities. By the year 2000, Brisanet had expanded its operations to include several cities in the states of Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte. In 2005, João Paulo Estevam and Jordão Estevam joined the company's management team, contributing to its expansion project. By 2010, Brisanet had become the largest radio internet service provider in Brazil, serving over 30,000 customers in 150 cities in the northeastern region. To meet the growing demand, the company recognized the potential of fiber optic technology and began studying its implementation. In 2011, Brisanet became the first city in Brazil to be fully served with fiber optic technology when it introduced it in Pau dos Ferros, Rio Grande do Norte. This successful operation allowed the company to expand its services, including TV and fixed-line telephony transmission, through fiber optic technology. According to the latest ranking by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), Brisanet is the leading broadband internet provider in Brazil in terms of customer satisfaction, achieving the highest ratings in all the states where it was evaluated: Ceará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, and Rio Grande do Norte. Currently, the company offers internet services through fiber optic technology, as well as cable TV, music streaming, fixed-line, and mobile telephony. Brisanet serves approximately 300 municipalities in the northeastern region, with over 1 million subscribers. The company has established its own digital fiber optic network infrastructure.
