Varazdin-based Banka Kovanica d.d. began operations as a savings bank under the name Stedionica Kovanica d.d. in 1997. It was renamed to Banka Kovanica d.d. in 2002. Since May 2007 the Croatian bank is majority-owned by the bank group Cassa di Risparmio della Repubblica di San Marino, based in the San Marino Republic. Banka Kovanica d.d. offers universal banking services to individuals as well as small and medium-sized businesses through a network of 16 branches across the country.
