Groupama Biztosító Zrt. is a Hungarian insurance company headquartered in Budapest. The first Hungarian insurance company - Garancia Biztosító, has been incorporated in 1987. OTP Group acquired it shares in 1992 and change the company name to - OTP Garancia Biztosító. The french group – Groupama, entered the Hungarian market in 1998. Groupama Garancia Biztosító, was formed from the merger of Groupama Biztosito and OTP Garancia in 2009, now the company is one of the top players in Hungary. After the transformation from 2015 the company operates under the name of Groupama Biztosító Zrt. The insurer operates through its affiliates in the areas of property insurance, investments, business, automotive, travel, personal risk management. Groupama Biztosító Zrt. relies on a network of 150 branches, 450 brokers and the 400 branches of OTP Bank in the country.
