Tradition and innovation can successfully go hand in hand in the Brewery of Pécs. Brewing traditions in the City of Pécs look back at ancient times as already since 1301 the Knights Hospitaller order of knighthood had known and had been making beer from the crystal clear water sources of Mecsek Hills. This was carried on by Lipót Hirschfeld in 1848 when he established the Hirschfeld S. Breweries Inc., predecessor in title of today’s Brewery of Pécs, which can build upon the values from the 19th century.
At the same time, the Brewery of Pécs of today is aware of and declares that any influential venture is required to constantly work on making itself more successful via developments and innovations, in addition to feeding upon its historical roots.
