PT. Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) is an aviation company owned by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, providing commercial aircraft for passenger, cargo and also other services related to air transportation in Indonesia, including ground services, maintenance & repair operation services, and in-flight catering service. Garuda Indonesia has three services hub in Indonesia. First, business hub, based in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta. Second, leisure hub, based in Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali. In order to improve flight capacity and frequency to eastern part of Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia launched a third hub at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The Company provides full service carrier (FSC) through Garuda Indonesia brand name, with main office at the International Airport Soekarno-Hatta. Beside FSC, GIAA also provides low cost carrier (LCC) service through Citilink brand name, separate from Garuda Indonesia brand name, and operated by its strategic business unit (SBU) in Surabaya. GIAA also provides non-scheduled air passenger transportation service with domestic destination and also international destination to Saudi Arabia for Hajj pilgrimage purpose with charter service. In 2010, Skytrax rewarded GIAA as a “Four Star Airline” and “The World’s Most Improved Airline”. Subsequently, in July 2012 Garuda Indonesia received “Best Regional Airline in Asia” and “World’s Best Regional Airline”. In 2013, Garuda Indonesia awarded "The World's Best Economy Class". GIAA was founded in 1949 and based in Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia. The company was listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2011 under the Main Board.
