Crnogorski Telekom, the biggest telecommunication company in Montenegro, is part of Deutsche Telekom Group through its controlling owner Magyar Telekom. The company operates under the T-Com and T-Mobile brands and offers voice services in fixed and mobile telephone networks, internet access services (dial up, ADSL, wireless), data transmission services in fixed telephony (leased lines, MPLS), as well as data transmission services within the GSM network (GPRS and EDGE).
The company was set up in 1998 under the name Telecom Montenegro after the split of TT Traffic of Montenegro into two separate companies. It was renamed to Crnogorski Telekom in 2006.
In March 2005 Hungary-based Matav (later renamed to Magyar Telekom) acquired a 51.12% stake in Telekom Montenegro for EUR 114 million and in April the same year it acquired another 21.92% in the Montenegrin company for EUR 22.9 million. The Hungarian telecom rose its stake in Telekom Montenegro to a total of 76.53% by acquiring 3.49% for EUR 3.6 million via a public offer held in May 2005.
In May 1, 2009 Crnogorski Telekom a.d. merged with its two subsidiaries, T-Mobile Crna Gora d.o.o and Internet Crna Gora d.o.o. maintaining its name. The services it offers are marketed under the T-Com and T-Mobile brands.
Crnogorski Telekom serves annually some 450,000 customers of T-Mobile services, as well as over 165,000 fixed-service connections, 57,000 ADSL customers, and 41,000 IPTV customers.
