Montefarm Ustanova (Montenegro)

Montefarm is the national public pharmacy institution of Montenegro, established by parliamentary decision in 1991 with the mandate to ensure stable supply of medicines and medical devices for the population and the public health system. It operates a nationwide network of public pharmacies providing prescription and over the counter medicines, medical devices, galenic preparations, dietary supplements and pharmaceutical counselling. Montefarm is also responsible for centralized procurement, warehousing and distribution of medicines and medical materials to all public health institutions, functioning as the principal pharmaceutical logistics hub in the country. The institution cooperates closely with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montenegro through practical training and education for pharmacy students. Key assets include its status as a state institution, an extensive pharmacy network, established distribution infrastructure and professional pharmaceutical staff. Strategically, Montefarm focuses on secure and equitable access to medicines, high professional standards in pharmaceutical care and support for the development of public health and the pharmacy profession in Montenegro.
