Industrias Bachoco, S.A. de C.V., founded in 1952 in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, and headquartered in Celaya, Guanajuato, is Mexico’s leading poultry producer and one of the ten largest globally. The company operates a vertically integrated model across more than 1,000 facilities, including farms, hatcheries, feed mills, processing plants, and distribution centers in Mexico and the United States. Bachoco’s core business activities include the breeding, processing, and marketing of chicken, eggs, pork, balanced animal feed, and further processed products such as sausages and deli meats. It also operates a laboratory for vaccine production for the poultry industry. The company went public in 1997 and is listed on both the Mexican Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker “IBA"; It is now a delisted one.” The Robinson Bours family, founders of the company, remain key shareholders and active in leadership roles. Bachoco’s most recognized brand is Bachoco®, known for its fresh and processed poultry products. In 2024, the company employed over 40,000 people and reported net sales of approximately 99.3 billion MXN, with 83% of revenue generated in Mexico and 17% in the U.S.
