This company has been established as Special Purpose Project Vehicle (SPPV)company to execute 456 MW Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project (UTKHEP).The company s main line of business involves development of hydropower projects including detailed feasibility, construction and operation.
History:
2007: The Company was incorporated on 09 March 2007.
2019: The Company was listed on Nepal Stock Exchange on 11 January 2019.
The company has planned to develop hydropower projects in Tamakoshi River basin as below:
First Stage: Peaking Run-of-River (PROR)type - UpperTamakoshi Hydroelectric Project (UTKHEP)
Second Stage: Standalone Rolwaling Khola Hydroelectric Project and Diversion of Rolwaling Khola to the UTKHEPintake pond UTKHEPis the national pride project which is entirely financed from the domestic financial institutions and companies.
2021 :Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Plant has been completed and inaugurated by the then Prime Minister K.P.Sharma Oli on 5 july 2021.
As per the terms of Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA),Commercial Operation Date (COD) from first unit was set on 20 august 2021 and date of completion of all 6 delivery unit was set on10 September 2021.
In the second stage, company has a plan to divert the water of Rolwaling Khola to head works of UTKHEPso as to increase energy of UTKHEPby 216.51 GWhrs.Apart from diversion, standalone Rolwaling Khola Hydroelectric Project (RKHEP)of 20.66 MW will also be constructed which will generate energy of 105.04 GWhrs.
