Hunt Oil Company of Peru, is a subsidiary of Hunt Oil Company, American company founded in 1934. In Peru,it is present from May 1, 2000. The company focuses on the construction and operation of large gas fields in Peru. In June 2010, Hunt Oil Company, SK Corporation, together with Repsol YPF, Marubeni and members of the Peru LNG Consortium opened the first gas liquefaction plant in South America. The 4.2 tons gas liquefaction plant, is located 170 kilometers south of Lima. Along with a 408-kilometer gas pipeline built along the Andes and a marine terminal on the Pacific coast in Melchorita, form what is known as the Peru LNG project.
