MEW S.A. Company was established in 2009 in order to invest in the development of hydroelectric power plants, whose power does not exceed 10 MW. The basic scope of its business is electricity generation in small hydroelectric power plants, which are a renewable source of energy. The aim of the company is building several power plants with a capacity of 100-1000 kW. MEW S.A. is the biggest Polish private entity, operating in the sector of water power, not participating in the state-owned energy companies.
