Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) was established in 1975 to produce long rolled products for domestic and international markets. In 1983 and 1987 new bar rolling mill and steel melt shop had been commissioned. Production facilities are at Foca plant, covering 500,000 m² areas located in Aliaga heavy industrial zone. In 2006 and 2007, after the new investments, revamping projects to improve quality, productivity and used technology, the annual production capacities of steel melting shop and bar rolling mill have been increased to 1.320.000 ton/year billet and 900.000 ton/year rebar respectively.
