Luzparral S.A. (Chile)

Luzparral S.A. is a company located in Parral, Chile. It was incorporated in September 1998 and began operating in May 1999. The company was formed after a group of farmers initiated the creation of the Sociedad Cooperativa de Consumos de Energía Eléctrica de Parral, Luzpar Ltda., with the aim of providing electricity to the rural areas in the region. The idea was funded by the local farmers and received support from the Empresa Nacional de Electricidad S.A., Endesa S.A., to implement the service. In 2006, the company expanded its services by incorporating a division called Interluz, which provides wireless internet connectivity in areas where national companies did not have coverage. Interluz now offers connectivity solutions for both private and public sectors in the areas it serves, including rural and urban areas from the Longaví commune to the rural areas of the Chillán commune. Luzparral S.A. has played a significant role in the development of the southern part of the Linares Province and the northern part of the Ñuble Province, improving access to electricity for farmers and the rural community in the area.
