The Fundacion Santa Fe de Bogota is a private, nonprofit organization, working in the health sector. It generates knowledge to help solve the problems of the sector and improve the health of individuals and the community. Its main programs are: a University Hospital, the Education, Research and Community Health.
The University Hospital opened in 1983 and today has twelve departments: Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Obstetrics and Human Reproduction, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Pediatrics, Physical Rehabilitation, Oral Health, Nutrition and dietetics, and Nursing Anesthesiology. In addition, the clinic has permanent medical technology equipment such as PET / CT, the most advanced technology for the detection, diagnosis and staging of cancer. It also has a team of stereotactic radiosurgery with X-KNIFE, the most advanced in the world for the treatment of brain tumors and vascular malformations of the nervous system, among others.
Recently, in a study of hospital quality in Latin America, held by America Economia Intelligence team, the Fundación Santa Fe was rated as one of the best hospitals on the continent.
