Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) is a public sector undertaking located in Kolkata, India. It was incorporated on November 9, 1967, and is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. HCL is the nation's only vertically integrated copper producing company, involved in mining, beneficiation, smelting, refining, and casting of refined copper metal into downstream saleable products. The company's main products include copper concentrate, copper cathodes, copper wire bar, continuous cast copper rod, and by-products such as anode slime, copper sulphate, and sulphuric acid. HCL primarily focuses on mining and beneficiation operations, with copper concentrate being its main product. In the financial year 2020-21, HCL earned a net profit of Rs 109.98 crore against a sales turnover of Rs 1760.84 crore (excluding GST). HCL operates across five units located in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.
