Tarmat Ltd. is an infrastructure company based in Mumbai, India. It was established in 1986 by Promoter Director Mr. Jerry Varghese. The company specializes in the construction of highways and runways. Tarmat operates in various states including Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Mizoram, Gujarat, and Delhi. Initially, Tarmat started by undertaking road works for government departments such as the Ministry of State Transport, Public Works Department, and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation. In 1988, the company secured its first major contract worth over Rs. 500 crore for the construction of roads and bituminous flexible pavement for the entire Nhava Sheva port (JNPT). They also completed the construction of rigid concrete pavement base with RCC beams and columns for the container yard within the stipulated period of 24 months. Tarmat has been accredited with the "ISO 9001:2008" Quality Management System Certificate. The company primarily works on projects sponsored by government or government agencies, including the Central Government, State Governments, and Municipalities. Tarmat provides engineering, procurement, and construction services for infrastructure projects, following the EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) model.
