TW2 Pharmaceutical Company, located in Ho Chi Minh municipality, was established on November 26, 1975, after the reunification of the country. Initially known as General Pharmaceutical Depot, the company's main function was to distribute finished drugs, raw materials, chemicals, and medical equipment for the prevention and treatment system in the South. In 1976, the company split into two separate entities: a medical equipment and laboratory chemicals company, and Tier 1 Pharmaceutical Company, which retained the trading name CODUPHA. CODUPHA, an abbreviation of La Compagnie Du Pharmacetique, became one of two state-owned pharmaceutical companies responsible for distributing drugs, raw materials, chemicals, and medical equipment in the Southern region. In 1985, Tier 1 Pharmaceutical Company changed its name to Central Pharmaceutical Company No. 2 while still operating under the trading name CODUPHA. In 1993, Central Pharmaceutical Company No. 2 became a state-owned enterprise under the Vietnam Union of Pharmaceutical Enterprises, now known as Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation (Vinapharm), under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. CODUPHA was granted an import license in 1993. Over the years, CODUPHA expanded its operations by establishing branches in Hanoi, Can Tho city, Buon Ma Thuot city, Vinh city, Hai Phong, and Quang Ngai. These branches provided medicines and medical products to various regions in Vietnam. In 2002, CODUPHA invested in building a pharmaceutical factory in Lao PDR that meets the standards of the World Health Organization's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). In 2010, Central Pharmaceutical Company No. 2 transformed into TW2 Pharmaceutical One Member Limited Liability Company, operating under the trading name CODUPHA, as per the government's decree. The company is registered under Business Registration Certificate No. 2 issued by the Department of Planning and Investment.
