Taneco AO is a modern oil refining company located in Nizhnekamsk, Russia. It is of strategic importance for the development of the economy in Tatarstan and is part of the Tatneft Group. The implementation of the Nizhnekamsk Refinery and Petrochemical Complex was initiated by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2005 with the aim of strengthening domestic oil refining and establishing advanced production capacities for market-demanded petroleum products. Taneco AO is the first large-scale investment and industrial project built from scratch in the post-Soviet space in the past 30 years. The project's investor, Tatneft PJSC, financed it through its own and borrowed funds. Additionally, a public-private partnership mechanism was used for the construction of the complex's external transportation infrastructure.
